LSP leaders stage dharna

Lok Satta Party on Sunday staged a dharna at the Collector’s Office Junction in protest against the government’s liquor policy. B.A. Babji, party State general secretary, and district Mahila Satta convenor R. Padmavati said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who had said on the eve of elections to the Assembly that liquor would not be viewed as the source of revenue for the State, had now given licence for 4,380 liquor shops besides permission for sale of liquor through shopping malls and hyper supermarkets. Mr. Babji demanded the Chief Minister to prove his sincerity by cancelling opening of tenders for liquor shops .
