‘Excise policy report to be submitted in May third week’

Excise and B.C. Welfare Minister K. Ravindra on Saturday said that a report on the implementation of excise policy in Southern Indian States would be submitted to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu next week.

Mr. Ravindra studied the excise policy of the Kerala during his discussions with his Kerala counterpart K. Babu last week. State Excise Commissioner Srinivas K. Naresh was also accompanied the Minister. The State government has targeted to come up with a unique policy after studying existing excise polices being implemented in other Southern States.

“Our report on findings on Kerala’s excise policy will be submitted to Mr. Naidu in May third week,” Mr. Ravindra said in a release on Saturday. He said that talks were on with Kerala officials to develop Manginapudi beach into a prime tourist destination. Mr. Ravindra and MP K. Narayana laid the foundation stones for road projects worth Rs. 32 lakh to be taken up in Machilipatnam.
