Engineering student drowns in waterfall near Mysuru

An engineering student from Bommuru, on the outskirts of Rajahmundry, died on Thursday evening when he slipped into a waterfall near Mysuru. His body was traced on Friday morning.

A family friend of the deceased, Bammerasetti Ajay Kumar (19), said the latter was pursuing engineering second year in the Veltec Engineering College, Avadi, Chennai. He, along with his friends, went to Mysuru on an industrial tour. A small group of the students left for Balmuri waterfalls near Mysore on Thursday afternoon.

Ajay Kumar and others took bath for some time. Despite being warned by security guards not to go into the water after sunset, Ajay Kumar went for a second bath and slipped from the edge of a rock into the waterfall.
