October 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:57 am IST - RAJAHMUNDRY:

Advocates in East Godavari on Thursday boycotted courts, seeking immediate action against police Inspector Y.R.K. Srinivas of Amalapuram town who had allegedly registered false cases against advocate V. Vijayakumar and arrested him against the guidelines of Supreme Court.

The members of Rajahmundry Bar Association led by A.P. Bar Council member and senior advocate Muppalla Subbarao staged a dharna in front of the Bar Association hall in the District Court. He said that when Mr. Vijayakumar was appearing on behalf of his client in a civil dispute, Mr. Srinivas arrested the advocate, alleging that the latter had a criminal history and he might be absconded from the town.
