April 21, 2019 01:11 am | Updated 01:11 am IST - VIJAYAWADA

The AP EAMCET-2019 went off peacefully on the first day on Saturday.

Of a total of 27,367 candidates, 25,737 (94.4%) appeared for the exam.

Technical glitches, however, caused a delay in the commencement of the exam at two centres during the morning session. At GMRIT exam centre in Rajampet, the exam was delayed by 30 minutes and at VITAM, Visakhapatnam, it was delayed by 17 minutes. In both the centres, the exam time was extended to make up for the lost time, said AP EAMCET convener Ch. Saibabu.

JNTU-Kakinada is conducting the exam on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The exam will continue till April 24.

The engineering test is being held on April 20, 21, 22 and 21 while the agriculture exam will be conducted on April 23 and 24. Candidates who are opting for both the exams, will have to take the exam on April 22 and on April 23.
