Don’t forego a great opportunity, Naidu tells farmers

He interacts with ryots from 29 villages of Thullur and Mangalagiri mandals of Guntur district. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the farmers not to forego a great opportunity that will bring them riches by giving lands to the capital and urged them not to be misled by the campaign of vested interests.

He said he could understand the farmers’ attachment with their land but by parting with their land for the capital, they would be transforming their lives for the better and the developed land would be shared with them in 50:50 ratio.

Smooth interaction

In what is described as a smooth interaction with farmers from 29 villages of Tullur and Mangalagiri mandals of Guntur district at the Camp Office here on Tuesday late evening, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu asked them not to have any kind of anxiety and the government would do its best to help them.

He recalled how he had transformed Madhapur and Gachibowli areas in Hyderabad into valuable lands and Tullur and other areas too would transform into world class capital city.

Promising to provide them skill development training and ensure better future for them, Mr. Naidu assured the farmers that justice would be done to each one who gave his land for the capital. Mr Naidu, responding positively to the demands of farmers, said if there were unemployed youth in the families of farmers, employment opportunities would be extended to them.

Some farmers, while admitting that they were proud that their area was chosen for the State capital, urged Mr. Naidu to allot 200 sq.yards of commercial plot along with 1,200 sq.yards of residential plot. Some other appealed that they should be given 1,200 sq.yards of land share per acre.

Earlier, farmers submitted a representation with various demands to provide special reservation for eligible among farmers’ families and provide them government jobs and also reservation in education and health insurance facility.

Their other demands included free registration for the developed land allotted to the farmers by the government under the land pooling benefits and livelihood opportunities to farmers, tenant farmers and also agricultural labourers.
