Domestic workers seek fair deal

Domestic workers across the State are seeking a better deal.

In the second general body meeting of the Domestic Workers’ Federation of Andhra Pradesh held in city on Saturday, they demanded increase in the minimum wages, constitution of a Domestic Workers’ Welfare Board to extend the facilities of pension, maternity benefits, housing, health and education to their children. They also wanted immediate steps to extend the benefits of ESI. The meeting was attended by 150 representatives across the 13 districts of the State.

Senior management consultant M.C. Das, Director of Montfort Social Institute, Hyderabad, Bro. Varghese Theckanath and other office-bearers of the federation were present.
