October 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - VIZIANAGARAM:

Extension Officers (PRD) have been made responsible, if a case of dengue is reported from any panchayat in the district.

Making it clear in a video conference with MPDOs, mandal engineers and EOPRDs on Wednesday, Collector M.M. Nayak said that EOPRDs were the first to be pulled up for dengue cases. He told the officials to ensure sanitation and observe every Friday as ‘dry day’. He asked them to complete model dumping yards in all respects in each village by next month. If there was any difficulty in identifying land for the same, he directed them to consult tehsildars concerned for a suitable place. The officials were free to use machines in dumping yards for works, which could not be done by labour under MNREGP, he said .DM&HO U. Swarajya Lakshmi asked them to avoid water stagnation for more than a week.
