Deeper financial crises in the offing: Yanamala

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Polit Bureau member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has expressed concern over prediction of a deeper financial crisis in Andhra Pradesh during the ‘Shubhakrit’ Telugu new year.

In a statement on Sunday, Mr. Ramakrishnudu, who is Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, said what was being given with one hand in the name of welfare was being snatched away with another through “fraudulent programmes.”

Increase in power tariffs, RTC fares, house tax, and garbage tax dealt a big blow to the people, who were already reeling under the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the TDP leader said.

He accused Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of destroying the State’s economy.

Mr. Ramakrishnudu objected to the government diverting the funds from the panchayats to the PD accounts. Even Finance Commission funds were not made available to the sarpanches, he alleged.
