CREDAI doubtful over sand availability for capital

October 20, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - RAJAHMUNDRY:

Newly elected chairman of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI), Rajahmundry Chapter, Buddiga Srinivas has expressed doubt that the government will get sand from various parts of the state for construction of Amaravati.

“When there is no major development activity in the State at present, there is a huge demand for sand and the government has failed to supply it to the common man. If the construction activity starts in Amaravati in massive scale , will the government get sand?” he asked. Mr. Sinivas appealed to the government to take steps for uninterrupted sand supply which is badly affecting construction activity in the State and steps should be taken to prevent open smuggling of sand. He recalled that development activities came to zero after bifurcation and common man is purchasing sand in black market like other essential commodities.
