‘Country poised for rapid growth under NDA regime’

‘The Bill to amend Land Acquisition Act will benefit ryots’

The BJP-led NDA government at the Centre will ensure a double digit growth in the nation going forward, BJP State Secretary K. Koteswara Rao said on Friday.

Announcing at a media conference first anniversary celebrations christened as ‘Jan Kalyan Parv’ from May 26, he said the ‘pro-poor, pro-growth and pro-employment’ Narendra Modi government had put the nation on the path of accelerated development in the last one year and ensured a congenial climate for accelerated growth of the economy.

Alleging that the erstwhile UPA government was ‘corrupt to the core with a large number of scams including coalgate and 2G scam,’ he said on the other hand, the NDA government had provided a corruption-free administration.

He accused the Congress of being ‘anti-growth and anti-development’ and asked why Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and others had not visited the farmers during the UPA regime when ryots were forced to end their lives due to the ‘anti-farmer’ policies of the then government.

The Bill to amend the Land Acquisition Act would be beneficial to farmers, he maintained.

“Cooperative federalism is the hallmark of the NDA government,” he said, adding that the Central government believed in taking all States together as ‘Team India’ to collectively unleash the growth potential of the nation.
