Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed the Collectors to coordinate with district in-charge Ministers and Chief Executive Officers of Zilla Parishads without giving scope for corruption in administration.

The Chief Minister, who reviewed government programmes of last one year with 13 district Collectors here on Saturday, said that top priority should be given to transparency in administration and advised them to improve their efficiency and speed. The government was implementing right man in right position to bring in accountability and freshness into the administration.

He also observed that transfers should not be a tool for harassment and they should be the last resort if an employee did not adhere to discipline or neglected his duty.

Advising the Collectors to approach the committee headed by the Chief Secretary if encountered any problems, Mr. Naidu said they should approach him if their problems were unresolved.

Giving a direction for the coming year, Mr. Naidu said Collectors should supervise implementation of loan waiver scheme as farmers’ welfare was top on government’s agenda. People in every village should know the amount spent on each welfare scheme and details of beneficiaries should be shared with them. “The information about beneficiaries of pensions, loan waiver, and other schemes should be displayed prominently in village junctions. This will ensure transparency’’, he said.

He said in the next three months, 100 per cent gas connections should be given to every household in a village besides linking them to the Aadhaar number.
