A 22-year-old construction worker at Government Interim Complex under construction at this village was killed in an accident on Tuesday morning.
The worker was identified as Devendra and hailed from Jharkhand.
The incident sparked an outrage among the construction workers numbering more than 500. They burnt an old ambulance and pelted stones on police even as they tried to remove the body. Under pressure from the workers, police brought the body back to the site.
Senior officials, including Revenue Divisional Officer Bhaskar Naidu reached the place and pacified the workers.
A Capital Rregion Development Authority official said that the incident took place when the worker was cleaning the cement mixer with a cow bar. The man was trying to clean the inside of the drum when he was sucked in and got crushed to death.
This is the second incident at the construction site where the State Government is building a temporary secretariat to relocate hundreds of personnel from Hyderabad.
Terming the incident as an unfortunate one, the CRDA official said that a compensation of Rs.5 lakh has been paid to the kin of the employee. The worker has also been covered under Foreign Labour Import License under which he would be paid insurance, he added.
