Leaving no stone unturned: Arrangements in full swing at STBC college grounds ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Kurnool.

Expecting a massive turnout of over one lakh people, Congress cadres are making all efforts to ensure that the maiden visit of AICC president Rahul Gandhi goes off without any hindrance.

The party leaders, right from APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy, former Union Minister Kotla Jayasurya Prakasha Reddy, former MLA Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy and several others, have been regularly inspecting the arrangements, particularly at the STBC College grounds, scheduled to host the public meeting.

For past several weeks, party cadres have also deployed vehicles with public address systems to spread the message, besides regular advertisements and hoardings. Though there has been a forecast of rain in the region, the showers have not dampened the spirits of party workers.

Reiterating that the Congress would not form an alliance with Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh, AICC general secretary and A.P. in-charge Oommen Chandy said Mr. Gandhi would arrive at Kurnool at 12.15 pm, and proceed immediately to Pedapadu village to interact with the family members of former Chief Minister Damodaram Sanjeevaiah at their residence.

At 1 pm, he would interact with students at Byreddy Convention Centre. The programme, post lunch at the State guest house, will continue with offering floral tributes at Kisan Ghat and interaction with farmers, followed by interaction with the family members of former Chief Minister Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy. The public meeting will be held from 3.20 pm and is scheduled to conclude by 4.20 pm.
