A three and a half hour-long extended Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee meeting attended by AICC secretary Thirunavukkarasu saw party seniors indulging in a serious review of organisational matters, while chalking out a plan of action for the fortnight from May 21 to June 8.
Starting with late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s death anniversary (May 21), observed as ‘Sadbhavana Diwas’, the fortnight will see programmes aimed at ‘exposing’ the ruling Telugu Desam in the State and the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre. It will include the two dates – Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing a year in office (May 26) and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s one year-rule (June 8).
“The programmes will start at the mandal-level in each of the 13 districts and end in New Delhi, where we will lodge a complaint with the Election Commission of India about the ruling parties’ failure in delivering on promises contained in their election manifesto. We will point out how these promises helped them to come to power and how they betrayed people. We will highlight the ruling parties’ failures and anti-people policies and stand by them,” said PCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy.
