Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was moved by the gesture of a woman in her late sixties towards building the capital city, Amaravati, during a public meeting here on Tuesday.

The woman donated ₹50,000, the amount pooled from her pension, to the government for the purpose.

Mr. Naidu, who was addressing people after giving ‘Jala harathi’ at Cherlopalli reservoir, which received Krishna water from the Handri Neeva Sujala Sravathi canal network, lauded the gesture of Mutyalamma from Srihari village of Ramagiri mandal, and touched her feet seeking her to blessings.

The pensioner blessed Mr. Naidu and said people wanted to see him as Chief Minister again.
