Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will lay a foundation stone for mega seeds park in Kurnool district on October 9.

The project will cost ₹670 crore, according to Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy.

Addressing a press conference at Secretariat on Tuesday, the Minister said that the State government allocated 650 acres for the project.

The government entered into an agreement with Iowa University of US. The government will release ₹150 crore during phase-I of the project. World class laboratories, seed processing facilities, research and development centres and facilities with international quality to export the seed would form part of the project, he said.

The Minister said that the government would allot land to major seed companies in the country in the park.
