CM to launch Vahana Mitra on October 4

Deposit process will begin from the same day itself

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will launch the YSR Vahana Mitra scheme at Eluru on October 4 and distribute ₹10,000 as financial assistance to auto-rickshaw, taxi and maxi cab driver-cum-owners.

Mr. Jagan, in a meeting with officials on Tuesday, directed them to deposit the money in unencumbered accounts on the day.

The approved documents of the scheme should be distributed to beneficiaries under the guidance of the respective district in-charge Ministers and Collectors.

Test run

“A test run shall be conducted on transferring the amount to these accounts. The deposit process will begin from October 4 and an SMS will be sent to beneficiaries. Eligible candidates can download the sanction order,” said the Chief Minister.

Speaking on the ‘Kanti Velugu’ scheme that will be implemented from October 10, the CM said that the services are not meant exclusively for students of government schools and said that even students of private schools can be covered under it. He asked officials to prepare the data for the same.

As many as 42,360 ASHA workers, 62,500 teachers, 14,000 ANMs and 14,000 public health staff were being trained to implement the ‘Kanti Velugu’ scheme. The government would conduct a screening test for students in the government schools from October 10 to 16. The treatment programme runs from November 1 to 31.
