Chinese suspect to be brought to Chittoor court today

June 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:02 am IST - CHITTOOR:

The Chittoor Task Force police will produce Chen Yi Fian, a Chinese national who was arrested in New Delhi on Friday and brought to Chittoor on Monday in connection with a red sanders smuggling case, at the district court here on Wednesday. Additional SP (Red Sanders Operations) V. Ratna said though efforts had been made to produce Chen in the court on Tuesday, it did not work owing to technical issues.Earlier, police who nabbed Yang Ping, another Chinese national, in Hyderabad on May 7, brought him to Chittoor and produced before the court the very next day.

In contrast, the delay in Chen’s case has led to speculation that interrogation is on. For record, police had recovered 10 tonnes of logs in Faridabad immediately after Chen’s arrest.
