It was curtains down for the annual Brahmotsavam at the Sridevi Bhoodevi Sametha Prasanna Chennakesava Swamy temple with performance of ‘Chakrasnanam’ on Tuesday.

The ‘Sudarsana Chakra’, the Lord’s disc, was immersed in holy waters amid chanting of Vedic hymns by priests led by Parankusa Ramanadhacharyulu and Narayanam Srinivasa Deekshitulu. The sacred flag hoisted atop the ‘Dhwaja Sthambam’ on the first day of the festival in honour of Lord Chennakesavaswamy, an incarnation of Lord Sriman Narayana, was lowered.

Devotees from far and near pulled the beautifully decorated chariot late on Monday amidst chants of Govinda, Govinda. Children hogged the limelight during the musical nite held by Lalita Kala Academy president Santaveluri Koteswara Rao.
