‘Anomalies in poll rolls will be addressed fast’

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Gopal Krishna Dwivedi handed over soft copies of the electoral rolls as per the proposed final Special Summary Revision (SSR)-2019, to leaders of various political parties at a meeting at the Secretariat on Friday.

Addressing the participants, Mr. Dwivedi, who has just taken charge, said registration of voters could be done till the last date of filing of nominations for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and deletions would be done till the same time.

He sought the cooperation of parties for the conduct of elections in a fair and peaceful manner and promised to get the grievances including discrepancies in voter lists, brought to his notice, redressed in the least possible time.

Varla Ramaiah (TDP), Ambati Rambabu and Vellampalli Srinivas (YSR Congress Party), T. Suribabu (Congress), Jupudi Ranga Raju (BJP) and M. Krishna Murthy and Y. Venkateswara Rao (CPI(M)) took part in the deliberations.
