Leader of the Legislative Council Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said the Centre was least bothered about resolutions sent from State Assemblies.

In an informal chat with the media in the lobbies of the Assembly here on Tuesday, Mr. Ramakrishnudu said resolutions had been sent to the Centre demanding Special Category Status (SCS) twice before to no avail. The YSRCP that was recently elected to power was sending a resolution demanding SCS for AP for the third time, he said.

The former Finance Minister alleged that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was scrapping the old schemes only to facilitate successful implementation of the new ones.

The Chief Minister was making promises without looking into the availability of funds to fulfil them. From where would the government raise ₹43,000 crore, he asked.

Mr. Jagan asked for just one chance and people have given it to him, Mr. Ramakrishnudu pointed out.
