State BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana on Saturday said the Centre had released ₹1.22 lakh crore for the construction of Amaravati, Polavaram project, disaster mitigation, uplift of backward districts and other projects from 2014 to 2018.

Besides, ₹233.88 crore was allotted to AIIMS, ₹98.29 cr. for IIT, ₹20.10 cr. for IIIT, ₹60 cr. for NIT, ₹49.96 cr. for IIM, ₹64 cr. for IISER, ₹135 cr. for Agriculture University and ₹33 cr. for Petroleum University, he said.

Mr. Lakshminarayana told newsmen here that the Central government had given maximum funds for taking up various projects post-bifurcation but Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was targeting the BJP and misguiding the public due to fear of defeat in the coming elections.

Objecting to the proposal to provide accommodation to the High Court on a temporary basis at the CM camp office on the ground that the judicial complex at Nelapadu was incomplete, he appealed to the Governor to intervene in the matter.

He alleged that the white papers being released by Mr. Naidu were farce and demanded to release a white paper on the funds released by the Centre and expenditure incurred by the State.

“The Centre has promptly responded to the Chief Secretary’s letter on the Kadapa Steel Plant and asked the State to give a report on the availability of iron ore. Instead of replying to the Centre, Mr. Naidu hurriedly laid foundation stone for the plant and was criticising the BJP over it.”

How could a Chief Minister oppose the Prime Minister’s visit, he asked and criticised Mr. Naidu for acting against the democracy.

Party national secretary Y. Satya Kumar, State vice-president T. Nagabushanam, Kisan Morcha State president Suryanarayana Raju, general secretary Tummala Anji Babu and others were present.
