Central Excise Commissionerate to get new building

After years of working from leased premises at various locations in the temple city, Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax administration is all set to get a building of their own near the local Annamaiah Circle area of Tirupati.

The seven-floor facility, with an estimated cost of Rs. 5 crore, will house all the necessary Central Excise formations of the city and is expected to be completed in one and a half years. The foundation stone laying ceremony was performed here on Thursday by TTD JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju.

Since its inception in 2002, the Commissionerate, falling under the jurisdiction of Visakhapatnam Zone, has recorded significant growth in the number of assesses and revenue collections.
