‘Padmavathi Parinayam’, the celestial wedding of Lord Srinivasa with princess Padmavathi, will now be performed in front of our eyes, thanks to the augmented reality technology (ART).

The technology superimposes a computer-generated image on a user’s view of the real world. Apart from a ‘darshan’, pilgrims will now be able to view the digitised ‘wedding’.

‘Padmavathi Parinayam’ is a mobile application that can be downloaded from the Google Playstore. There are 30 screens narrating the episode of ‘Padmavathi Parinayam’ with the noted playback singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam providing the voice-over for the wedding. “Digital technology is sure to entertain devotees to a great extent,” says the Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal, who inaugurated the facility at the Friday Gardens in front of the Padmavathi Ammavari temple at Tiruchanur.

Laser show

“We are planning to launch a laser show on ‘Padmavathi Jananam’ ,” says Joint Executive Officer B. Lakshmikantham. The laser show will be held at the ‘Padma Sarovaram’, the tank near the temple.
