The Banjara Hills police on Wednesday registered a criminal case against Nara Lokesh, son of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, following a complaint lodged by Joint Action Committee of Telangana Advocates.

The complainants accused Mr. Lokesh of trying to create animosity between people of the two States by stating that registration of cases would not harm Telugu Desam party referring to cash for vote case being investigated by Telangana ACB. He also defamed Telangana Government with his comments, they charged. Based on the complaint, sections 153-A (promoting enmity between groups) and 500 (defamation) of Indian Penal Code were invoked against him.
