Officials should take steps to ensure the effective implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act in government offices, Andhra Pradesh State Information Commissioner P. Vijay Babu has said. Reviewing cases at the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) here on Monday, Mr. Babu maintained that Section 4(1) (b) of the RTI Act was not being implemented and said several complaints had been cropping up, especially from the Revenue and Education departments.

He further said people could approach courts, if the orders of the RTI Commissioner were not implemented properly.
