January 14, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:01 am IST - KAKINADA:

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Tuesday announced it was fielding sitting MLC and the Government Whip K.V.V. Satyanarayana Raju (Chaitanya Raju) as its candidate in the ensuing elections for the Godavari districts Teachers’ Constituency in the Legislative Council.

Announcing this at a press conference here, Home Minister N. Chinna Rajappa and party district unit president Parvatha Chitti Babu said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had finalised the candidature of Mr. Chaitanya Raju for the elections, and that ‘From-B’ would be handed over to him very soon.

Mr. Chaitanya Raju, who served as MLC for two terms as a Congress nominee, had shifted loyalties to the TDP following the Congress’s debacle in the general elections before becoming Government Whip.
