Bringing handwriting back to centre stage

Expert from Rajahmahendravaram is an online guru for many teachers, students

A person’s handwriting is as unique as his personality and pen strokes can reveal his personality traits.

Meet Rajesh Khanna Sabba of the city, who is an expert handwriting trainer, calligrapher, graphologist, psychologist and author of 12 handwriting books. He has invented new techniques to cater for all age groups and professionals.

Mr. Rajesh Khanna and his team has till date trained about a million of students and thousands of teachers and turned their handwriting successfully. Teachers and students out of the country also seek his advices and correct their mistakes online. As per YouTube demographics, his handwriting tutorials are popular in 18 countries, an estimated 203K have derived benefit from his tutorials. He has published many books with co-author Vijaya Sree. He is also the founder of handwriting publishing house Aarushi Books.

He created a WhatsApp group for his students and asks them to post one or two pages of their homework. He makes corrections and gives suggestions for improvement on daily basis. “My daughter improved her handwriting in just three months through the app after attending regular classes for 15 days in summer,” said Prasad, a parent.

He earlier worked as a teacher, journalist. He was trained by Bart Baggett of Handwriting University, USA. Now his vision is to beautify every letter written by students. He is a director of Universal Handwriting Academy, a training and research centre which he established along with Ms. Vijayasree.

Mr. Rajesh welcomes the advent of the digital era and the changes brought about by it. “Tabs and other gadgets never spoil handwriting, in fact, they are preserving our handwriting in digital way. In many institutions, students have started using tabs taking their professors’ notes with stylus, ” he said.

Research papers

“Handwriting activates the brain more than keyboarding because it involves more complex motor and cognitive skills,” he added. He says some students find it difficult to grasp the techniques but if the teacher is observant, the problems can be solved in no time. Mr. Rajesh has presented research papers at national seminars.
