Botcha leaves for Delhi to discuss organisational issues

July 02, 2012 11:49 pm | Updated 11:49 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana left for New Delhi on Tuesday to seek the approval of the party leadership for constitution of the PCC executive committee and appointment of District Congress Committee presidents.

Mr. Satyanarayana is scheduled to meet AICC AP affairs in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad and general secretary Vayalar Ravi to discuss the names of party functionaries shortlisted for the posts. He is likely to explain to the high command the measures being taken to strengthen the party from the grass-root level following the drubbing in the recent by-elections.

Condition of Muslims

Meanwhile, former Minister Mohd. Ali Shabbir urged Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to consider formation of a Cabinet sub-committee to make a detailed study of the condition of Muslims who were facing several difficulties. The sub-committee could consider extending a sub-plan for Muslims, on the lines of the one for SCs and STs, as they were living in miserable conditions, he said in a letter.

Separate Telangana votary and MLC K. R. Amos expressed concern over the speculation on the formation of Rayala-Telangana claiming that the people of Telangana would never accept such a proposal. The region was meted out grave injustices under the Chief Ministership of Rayalaseema leaders and no Telangana party was prepared to compromise for such “useless proposals,” he said.
