Bogus loan scam

State orders CBCID probe

June 07, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - VIZIANAGARAM:

Following a complaint by Rural Development Minister K. Mrunalini and Gajapathinagaram MLA Kondapalli Appala Naidu early this year, the State government has ordered a CBCID inquiry into the Rs. 18-crore bogus loan scam at Ravivalasa Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society in Garugubilli mandal. An order to this effect was received at the Department of Cooperation on Saturday. The Rs. 18-crore scam had come to light after the government released Rs. 2.05 crore under debt redemption scheme to 2,227 farmers in December last year. The farmers in the list were asked to submit Aadhaar/ration card to receive the benefit.
