Actor and Hindupur MLA N. Balakrishna, accompanied by film director Krish, on Saturday completed the filed study to finalise the locations for the shooting of the much-awaited biopic on the veteran actor and TDP founder-president, N.T. Rama Rao, at Nimmakuru and Komaravolu villages in Krishna district.

Childhood days

Both of them spent a few hours in the two villages, enquiring with the people and NTR’s relatives to document the veteran actor’s childhood days.

The village elders and the film crew inspected the possible locations for the shooting being planned either in October or November. Addressing the media later, Mr. Balakrishna said the people of Nimmakuru, the birth place of NTR, and Komaravolu would be the key source for the biopic. “I feel blessed to play the role of my father in the film. It’s a historical need to make films on legends such as NTR, who had brought laurels to the Telugu-speaking community and contributed immensely to the Telugu film industry,” said Mr. Balakrishna.

The film crew later offered floral tributes at the portraits of NTR and his wife Basavatarakam at their ancestral house at Nimmakuru. Talking about the biopic, Mr. Krish said the film would chronicle the illustrious journey of NTR, both in Telugu cinema and politics. “The biopic will have no mention of the existing political scenario (of the TDP). Noted Bollywood actor Vidya Balan will play the character of Basavatarakam,” Mr. Krish said, and added that M.M. Keeravani would lend music to the film.
