But is targeting rivals in an attempt to undermine them, alleges Yanamala

Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Saturday criticised the BJP for allegedly letting economic offenders such as Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi go scot-free and getting non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for fighting for the people’s cause at the Babli project site.

In a press release here, Mr. Ramakrishnudu questioned how could the warrant be issued to Mr. Naidu eight years after he staged the protest along with other TDP leaders against the “injustice” meted to the unified Andhra Pradesh by Maharashtra. Mr. Ramakrishnudu questioned who was responsible for the likes of Mr. Mallya roaming freely on foreign shores. He stated that the BJP was resorting to strong-arm tactics against its rivals.

The warrant to Mr. Naidu and others was a part of the conspiracy hatched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to undermine the anti-BJP forces, he said.

Special Correspondent in Anantapur writes: HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Women Empowerment Minister Paritala Sunita decried the issuance of NBW to Mr. Naidu.

Terming it as political opportunism, he said the agitation at the Babli site was for a public cause.

Addressing a rally, Ms. Sunita said BJP would face the wrath of people if it went ahead with the execution of the NBW.
