Bhogapuram airport: Left plans to revive stir

In the wake of reported survey of lands by survey and revenue officials despite High Court ‘s stay order for an international airport in Bhogapuram mandal, CPI and CPI(M) leaders have decided to keep the kettle boiling till the government dropped the proposal.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, district secretaries of the two Left parties T. Suryanarayana and P. Kameswara Rao said that CPI (M) Politbureau member B.V. Raghavulu and CPI state assistant secretary J.V. Satyanarayana Murty would tour and invigorate villagers in the proposed airport area on February 4 and CPI Politbureau member K. Narayana on February 11.

Land acquisition GO

Mr. Kameswara Rao said that 3,000 farmers had been agitating against the land acquisition GO and got stay order from High Court.

But, survey of lands had been going on against the High Court order, he alleged and assured Bhoo Hakkula Porata Committee members of Left parties’ support in their fight.
