September 08, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - CHITTOOR:

Andhra Pradesh State Backward Classes Welfare Association core committee chairman T.G. Suresh on Monday appealed to Collector Siddarth Jain to order an inquiry into the alleged irregularities in spending of funds meant for BC welfare hostels by the department’s in-charge deputy director Ramachandra Raju, and take steps to suspend the official.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Suresh maintained that the official was collecting Rs. 20 from each student of the welfare hostels every month, besides shifting computers from the hostels to a private firm owned by his family members at Tirupati.

Mr. Suresh urged the Collector to appoint a regular official from the BC Department.
