Banswada by-election on October 13

By-election to the Banswada Assembly constituency in the State will be held on October 13.

The Election Commission announced the schedule for by-election, necessitated by the resignation of Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, on Tuesday.

According to the schedule, notification for the election will be issued on September 19 and the last date for filing nomination papers will be September 26. Scrutiny of papers will be done on September 27 and last date for withdrawal of nominations will be September 29.

Polling will be held on October 13 and the counting of votes taken up on October 17.

Mr. Srinivas Reddy, who was elected on the TDP ticket in 2009 elections, tendered his resignation to the seat after he quit the party and joined Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He was associated with the TDP from its inception and had served as a Minister in the cabinet of N. Chandrababu Naidu.
