Expressing solidarity with the TDP leaders, demanding Special Category Status to the State in New Delhi, former Mayor Bangi Anantaiah staged a novel protest by getting his head tonsured while riding a donkey near the District Collectorate complex, here on Friday. Speaking to the media, Mr. Anantaiah alleged indifference of the Centre to the State’s demand and added that their fight against Prime Minister Narendra Modi would continue till they get the Special Category Status along with other promises made during bifurcation.

He said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, without the Union government’s assistance and deficit budget, was working hard to ensure development across the State.

He said that his demonstration was to extend support to the TDP MPs, who are fighting for the rights of Telugu people and Andhra Pradesh in the country’s capital.
