Book on 100 years of varsity’s history to be released in 2026

Andhra University will celebrate its Founder’s Day on April 26.

A statue of C.R. Reddy, the university’s founding V-C, which is located near the varsity’s administrative building, will be garlanded at 9 a.m. after which a programme would be organised at the Dr. Y.V.S. Murthy Auditorium on the campus from 10 a.m, Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University Prof. G. Nageswara Rao told the media on Monday.

Prof. Nageswara Rao informed the media that Dr. Anil Bharadwaj, Director of Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad, will deliver the foundation day lecture.

About 16 octogenarian former teaching staff and 14 non-teaching staff will be felicitated on the occasion.

He added that a book on the 100 years of history of the university would be written and released on its centenary year in 2026.

“The task of documenting the 100 years of history till 2026, has been given to former rector of the varsity, Prof. A. Prasanna Kumar, who will head a committee,” said Prof. Nageswara Rao.
