‘3 houses, 13 sites, 23 acres farm land among properties found’

The sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB, Anantapur range) on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids on the alleged properties of a Transport Department constable, Nalapa Reddy Ravindranath Reddy, at five locations in the district and seized gold and silver ornaments, cash and documents of landed properties and houses to the tune of ₹20 crore. The accused works at the Motor Vehicle Inspector’s office at Guntakal.

The ACB officials said that based on a complaint against the constable that he was in possession of disproportionate assets, raids were conducted at Anantapur town, two locations at Giremma Baavi village of Yelanur mandal, and two premises at Putlur village and mandal headquarters.

Assets in wife’s name

The detected assets included 13 house plots, three constructed houses, including a three-storey building at Jesus Nagar in Anantapur, 23 acres of agricultural land, two SUVs, 1 kg of gold and 3.5 kg of silver ornaments. Most of the immovable assets were registered in the name of his wife, N. Aruna.

The area DSP said that a case has been registered and the accused would be produced in the Kurnool ACB court.
