Parchuri Ashok Babu, who has been serving as president of the AP NGOs Association for many years now, is all set to join the TDP. Mr. Ashok Babu, due to retire in April, opted for voluntary retirement.

Mr. Ashok Babu said he could not deny an invitation from TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu to join politics. He, however, said he was not aware of what plans Mr. Naidu had for him. “I shall do whatever he says,” he said when asked whether he would contest in the upcoming general elections.

Mr. Ashok Babu hails from Avanigadda in Krishna district. He joined the Commercial Taxes department in 1977 as a junior assistant and retired as Assistant Commercial Tax Officer. He served as AP NGOs Association Krishna district unit treasurer in 83-84.

For last one decade, he served as association State leader in both the combined A.P. and the residual State. He and his team actively campaigned against bifurcation. The association organised Chalo Delhi as part of the agitation in 2014.
