The Hydri Club was a beehive activity as a big league of painters assembled to pay a unique tribute to Pablo Picasso on his birth anniversary here on Sunday.
As many as 100 painters from different parts of the country came together with a resolve to paint non-stop for 100 hours from 10 a.m. on Sunday in turns and in the process, stake claim for etching their names in the record books.
“We want to cherish in our own way the memory of the prolific painter who had produced greatest of artworks which includes 1,885 paintings 1,228 sculptures and 2,880 ceramics,” says Srushti Art Academy founder T. Ravindra.
Imagination
The artists gave vent to their imagination and came out with realistic, abstract and modern paintings on 2 x 3 ft canvas using a variety of media including acrylic, oil and mixed medium on the first day of the event, sponsored by the Nehru Yuva Kendra.
The list of participants included those from Delhi, Meerut, Baroda, Thane, Bengaluru, Kochi, Coimbatore, Puducherry, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Nellore, added NYK former Coordinator N. Chandramohan Reddy.
