APSRTC’s image boost top priority: Sambasiva Rao

January 24, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) N. Sambasiva Rao on Friday said his priority would be to work for boosting the image of the yet-to-be-bifurcated organisation by ushering in cleanliness, improving quality of service and good revenues.

“I cannot promise the moon, but I certainly have a few ideas. While we cannot compete with airlines in cleanliness and ambience, I am confident of ushering in changes that will make the travelling public come to us,” he said after taking charge on Friday.

He said the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was a good initiative to start with. “We will go on campaign mode to keep buses and bus stations clean and make passengers feel at home. We are sure we can offer stiff competition because we are among the safest operators on the road,” he added.

According to him, contentious issues apart, it would be better if the bifurcation process was completed at the earliest.
