Three days after the arrest of Salman Mohiuddin at the airport here for allegedly trying to join the Islamic State terror group in Syria, the Cyberabad police are planning to send the electronic items purportedly seized from him to the AP Forensic Science Laboratory (APFSL) for examination.
“A detailed examination of the laptop and other electronic items seized from Salman can throw more light on his activities and communication with his girlfriend and others,” a police official said.
Salman was arrested at the RGI Airport on Friday after Central intelligence agencies tipped off local police about his plans.
The Cyberabad police alleged that he was planning to join IS along with his girlfriend Ayesha. After analysing the equipment, police are likely to confront him with the data.
As of now, the police could only surmise that Salman failed in his attempt to influence one of his friends in Dubai in joining him in his trip to Turkey and subsequently joining IS.
Meanwhile, the police are waiting for the court to grant them Salman’s custody.
