The 611th birth anniversary of Tallapaka Annamacharya will be observed from May 18 to 24 at Tallapaka village of Kadapa district, the native place of the saint-poet.

The Dhyana Mandiram, which is already famous for the 108 ft-tall statue of Annamacharya located at the entrance of Tallapaka abutting the Tirupati-Kadapa highway, will host the week-long celebrations.

Musical tributes

Musical tributes will be paid to him in the form ‘Sapthagiri Sankeerthana Goshti Ganam’, a group rendition of his compositions at Tallapaka on May 18, followed by Srivari Kalyanam. In Tirupati, the events at Mahati Auditorium and Annamacharya Kalamandir include literary sessions in the morning and devotional music concerts in the evening.

TTD Joint Executive Officer B. Lakshmikantham released posters pertaining to the programme at his chambers here on Tuesday.
