A minor fire that broke out in the forest close to the Goshala at Palamaner created a panic among people on Wednesday. The residents living nearby noticed the flames along the grassy slopes of the hillside abutting the cattle farm and alerted the Goshala management and the Fire Services Department.
The fire services personnel rushed to the spot. It took them around half an hour to douse the flames. People said a tragedy was averted by the timely response of the fire services personnel.
Even as it was thought as an act of miscreants earlier, a fire services official said that sparks emanated from the bio-energy plant nearby caused the fire. He said that the farm staff had been told to initiate corrective measures to prevent such mishaps in future.
