Andhra Pradesh: builders, developers to observe ‘work holiday’ tomorrow

April 07, 2022 08:29 pm | Updated 08:29 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA

The associations of builders and developers in Andhra Pradesh such as the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI), National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), Chamber of Commerce, Builders’ Association of India, Licenced Technical Persons, Architects’ Association and State of Andhra Pradesh Building Contractors Association (SABCA) have denounced the steep hike in the prices of raw material for construction such as steel, cement, paints, electrical, plumbing, sanitary and hardware material.

As a mark of protest, they have proposed to observe ‘work holiday’ or “stop work” day on April 9 (Saturday) across the State.

In a statement on Thursday, representatives of the associations appealed to the State and the Central governments to intervene and take corrective measures to save the construction industry.
