Andhra Pradesh: Apologise to scribes, TDP leader tells Minister

April 12, 2022 07:24 pm | Updated 07:24 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader K. Srinivasulu has accused Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Minister Ch. Venugopala Krishna of hurting the sentiments of journalists in the State. He objected to the ‘Minister advising the media persons to worship Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy if they wanted house sites’.

In a statement on Tuesday, Mr. Srinivasulu termed it as ‘bankrupt’ on the part of Mr. Venugopala Krishna to pass such ‘humiliating comments’. “This is a democracy, not a dictatorship. The Minister must realise this.  Ever since the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) came to power, journalists were facing challenges while discharging their duties,” said the TDP leader.

The TDP leader stressed the need for the media to overcome the ruling party’s threats and assume greater responsibility in the civil society. “The Minister must tender an apology to journalists,” he added.
