Former MLA and YSR Congress Party Chirala candidate Amanchi Krishna Mohan, who was defeated by TDP candidate Karanam Balarama Krishna Murthy, announced that he filed a petition in the High Court seeking disqualification of his rival for giving false information to the Election Commission (EC) in his affidavit.

Addressing the media at the YSRCP State office here on Tuesday, Mr. Krishna Mohan said that the information provided by Mr. Balaram in the affidavit to the EC about the number of children he had was false.

Showing photographs and copies of various documents such as birth certificate and Aadhaar card, Mr. Krishna Mohan charged that Mr. Balaram had another child whom he failed to mention in the affidavit.

When contacted, the TDP MLA said he would fight legally Mr. Krishna Mohan’s charge that he had not revealed certain facts about his personal life in his election affidavit.

“After the drubbing in people’s court, he (Mr. Krishna Mohan) is trying to make an issue out of nothing out of fear of losing even the minuscule number of followers after the elections,” Mr. Balaram said.
