An air-conditioned lounge, built on Platform 8 of the Visakhapatnam Railway Station, was inaugurated by Visakhapatnam MP Kambhampati Haribabu in the presence of Divisional Railway Manager Mukul Saran Mathur on Wednesday.

The modernisation work, executed by the Coaching Depot, Visakhapatnam, was taken up under Project Utkrist of the Railways.

Mr. Mathur said that the new AC lounge, built at a cost of ₹25 lakh, allows passengers to use it for two hours on a payment of ₹50. Passengers would be given a mineral water bottle or tea/coffee as complimentary at the lounge.
