Members of the Andhra Pradesh State Agricultural Cooperative Employees Union staged a novel protest by donating blood as the State government allegedly remained “indifferent” to their nine-point charter of demands.

Employees led by the union’s district president P.Hanumantha Rao and secretary R. Dilip kumar donated 20 units of blood at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), demanding pay hike, job security, increase in retirement age to 60 years from 58 years and hike in gratuity to ₹5 lakh from ₹2 lakh.
